ART 4. - ELECTIONS
- All officers and ordinary members of the National Executive Committee shall be elected to office at the Annual General Meeting of the Guild.
- Nominations for election as officers or ordinary members of the National Executive Committee shall be forwarded in writing, signed by the proposer and a seconder and indicating the branch(es) of which they are members, to reach the National Secretary not less than six weeks prior to the date of the Annual General Meeting.
- Notice of all nominations received shall be given to all members of the Guild, as provided in Article VI, not less than four weeks prior to the date of the Annual General Meeting.
- In cases where only one person has been duly nominated for election to a vacant position as an officer or ordinary member of the National Executive Committee, a motion for the election of the person concerned shall be put to the Annual General Meeting and if adopted, the person so proposed shall be deemed to be elected to the vacancy concerned.
- In cases where more than one person has been duly nominated for election to a vacant position as an officer or ordinary member of the National Executive Committee, a secret ballot shall be held of all the members present at the Annual General Meeting and the person receiving the majority of the votes cast shall be deemed to be elected to the vacancy concerned. In the event that there is an equality of votes cast for the persons proposed, the matter shall be determined by further secret ballot or by lot and the person so chosen shall be deemed to be elected to the vacancy concerned.
- Further to Article III paragraphs 2 and 3, the provision of the foregoing paragraphs 1 to 5 inclusive of this Article shall apply, mutatis mutandis, to the election of all officers and ordinary members of all Branch Executive Committees.
